1st Fair of Natural Medicine and techniques in Arruda dos Vinhos

AIDGLOBAL makes products available from CAR Bobadela

AIDGLOBAL was present in NaturArruda, the 1st Fair of Natural medicine and techniques that was held on the weekend of 22 and 23 of September in the municipal garden of Arruda dos Vinhos.

According to the organizers the initiative, pioneer in the region, the aim was to provide “Two Healthy Days” and for that the program included classes, speeches and workshops. In the surrounding areas there were moments to animate the participants – meditation concerts and Indian food form Goa showcooking, among others. Visitors had the opportunity to move around several exhibition stands in the area of health, education and wellbeing.

AIDGLOBAL shared a facility with other partners mainly UBI HUB, a community of practice based in Arruda dos Vinhos that develops innovative projects that transform communities.

Rita Lopes from the project office coordinated the activity of AIDGLOBAL that included the dissemination of the project Urbagri4women, an initiative that has many relations with this fair. On the place several solidarity projects were distributed mainly plants from the community garden of CAR – welcoming center for refugees Bobadela/Loures – as well as different jams made in the urban agricultural labs, a part of the training module of Urbagri4women. This module is about entrepreneurship and the use of garden products for sustainable activities.

AIDGLOBAL is the national entity of the Urbagri4women, a project that is being implemented in 7 european countries that aims at promoting the integration of migrant women, including asylum seekers and the ones who benefit from international protection in the welcoming societies, allowing them to develop innovative projects of subsistence in the area of agriculture.

The inclusion of these women is done through education and recreation activities, professional training, access to labor market, in the fight against discrimination and in cultural activities that promote intercultural dialogue and a welcoming culture. It involves public administration, social partners, migrant’s associations and other relevant stakeholders.
